What does Wordsworth mean when he says “What man has made of man”?

By the phrase “What man has made of man”, the poet is basically lamenting the way man has mistreated  his fellow beings around him. He also means to say how man has cut himself off from the bonds of nature.

What conclusion does the poet draw from the movement of the birds?

Though the poet doesn’t understand the thoughts of the birds entirely but he can draw a conclusion from  the movement of the birds that they are moving happily, thrilled by pleasure.

What is Wordsworth’s belief regarding Nature’s holy plan?

Wordsworth believes that the holy plan of nature is the happy bonding that exists between different  creatures, flowers and birds. He also believes that man should the part of that happy bond. But according  to him man has cut himself from this holy bondage from nature and thus laments that men are  dissociating from “Nature’s holy plan”.

What is the reason behind Wordsworth’s lamentation?

The poet in the poem ‘Lines written in early Spring’ says that Nature has linked herself to his soul  and thus making Man also a part of her. The poet looks at the beautiful gifts of nature and realise  that how they exist together in perfect harmony. Firstly in the form of the birds hopping about  singing in unison creating a wonderful blended melody, secondly, the primrose tufts and the  periwinkle wreaths, which are flowers and trees respectively, blooming with such respect to  each other.

The reason behind Wordsworth’s lamentation arises from this very fact that while in one hand,  every other creature of nature survives in beautiful, harmonious co-existence; on the other hand  we as human beings have dissociated from Nature, which in turn resulted in bringing sorrow and  misery into our lives. He also becomes sad when he finds how men have treated nature and even  their fellow men.

What in nature made Wordsworth feel happy on that spring day?

The following are the incidents which made Wordsworth fell happy. He felt that there is a deep  connection between Nature and his own soul. The beauty of the spring day where all the  creatures of Nature were celebrating their existence so harmoniously with each other. The poet  also saw the birds all around him, they are hopping and singing happily and when he saw the  primrose flowers blooming amidst other plants. Thus, the existence of nature with various flora and fauna, the birds, made him feel happy when he was reclined in a grove.
